St. Joseph Cemetery
St. Joseph cemetery is located about seven miles south of Ravenna and 3/4 miles east on the Grand Island Road. (About 12 miles north of Highway 30 on the Ravenna Road) It is located on a small hill looking west, with some interesting iron markers. Some of the dates on the headstones date from 1889 to the early 20th Century. I would estimate about 100 graves; might be a good place for a smaller investigation at some point in the future.
(Ben took all the photos! Good Job, Ben!)
We only took pics at the first one, because I didn't read the sign close enough to know we had to go further down the road to the other one. ~D
*Interesting note: there is more than one St. Joseph cemetery in Nebraska...*
William (Ben) Walker
Location: Gibbon, NE
Occupation: Student, actor, photographer and investigator in training.
As the son of one of Nebraska Phantasm’s founders, William, usually known as "Ben", has taken some of the photos seen in the “Cemeteries” section of the website, and will help with smaller details of future investigations. Having been plagued by a dark being he named “The Shadow Bear” in his younger years, Ben has a healthy interest in the unknown. His natural curiosity about such things will be an asset that will supplement the team periodically.

St. Joseph’s Cemetery Investigation (partial report)
9/3/2010
Investigators: Dennis, Rick, Julie
Weather: Cool night. Almost calm winds. Clear sky. Beautiful late summer night.
Conditions: Constant noise pollution due to an irrigation motor 1/4 mile northwest of site.
Start Time: 8:15 p.m.
Length of Investigation: Approximately one hour and fifteen minutes
Equipment used: Three digital recorders; one digital camera
This site has been on our list of “to-dos” for some time.
Located on the west side of a small hill, away from highway traffic (near a small house), the grounds are well-maintained. The entrance gate is wired open and a rusty wrought-iron fence (with a gate), surrounded by over-grown grass, borders the site to the north.
At the time of the investigation, tall corn surrounded the site to the east; pasture to the south; the farm house to the west; the gravel road (and more corn) to the north. Investigators had a clear view of the western sky and horizon. At one point, Rick and Dennis witnessed a very bright shooting star in the southeastern sky.
This investigation was intended to be casual, and we approached it as such. The group started the walk-through at dusk, observing stones; placed one recorder on a stone approximately 100 yards south of the (approximate) center of the site, and one about 50 yards southwest of the (approximate) center of the site. The group seated themselves just on the southern edge of the (approximate) center. The investigators then proceeded to talk amongst themselves, occasionally calling out and inviting anyone who might be present to speak or alert them of their presence, somehow.
